The Light of Christ and Parvuli Dei Emblems are done as a family not as a unit or den.  There isn’t any specific training required for the parents to have their son begin the emblem.  There are instructions in the front of the LOC and PD Booklet for the family to follow.

In addition, if the boys want to attend Scout Day with the Bishop January 24, 2010 they will need to have completed the LOC and PD requirements prior to December 1, 2009.  All certificates of completion (in the back of the booklet) will need to be submitted to the Catholic Committee on Scouting by that date.

When are earned emblems awarded?...
Scout Sunday - awards are presented at a mass at St. Brendan  on Scout Sunday.  This year it is Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010.  This is the date that is set by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting as Scout Sunday for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Scout Day with the Bishop - is a recognition day where the boys (and girls) have their names read aloud.  It is not Mass, and no awards are presented.  This year it is Sunday, Jan 24, 2010.
